If you’ve been with me for awhile, you’ll know how I love screencasts. They’re a great way to communicate your online message … whatever that may be. And I encourage you to take advantage of this technology to its fullest.

If the price of a screencasting software has been holding you back, I’ve got great news for you. Techsmith is currently running a promotion. In the hope of persuading you to upgrade to their latest version of Camtasia Studio (version 5.0), they’re offering an older version (i.e. version 3) for free.

Here’s what you have to do to take up this offer.

  1. Download the free trial version of Camtasia Studio 3 at:
    http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiastudio/enu/312/camtasiaf.exe
  2. Go to the following promotion page, complete your name, country and e-mail address and Techsmith will send you the software key to unlock the program almost instantly:
    http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/pcpls.asp
  3. Just install the program you downloaded from step 1 above and then enter the software key you receive from Techsmith in step 2 and you’ll have a fully working version of Camtasia Studio 3 on your PC.

If you like what you see, you may also want to take up their offer on a discounted upgrade to the latest version 5.0. In fact, I think I’ll take up the offer myself.

This is great. I’ve been using the free version of Camstudio until now. Got to your page via blogrush.
Great blog.

This offer is over due to “being leaked across the web” which was apparently only for a PC magazines reader base.

Bottom line: That link is no good for that offer now
