Need Cool Looking Online Apps - Try Zoho
Zoho is the better twin of Google Docs. In fact, Zoho is so much more than Google Docs ever was and most likely will be. While I do like Google Docs myself, Zoho gives users a lot more tools to collaborate data.
It is a great collaboration tool for web workers. Especially if you work in a team. You can share documents, work simultaneously at the same stuff and organize your home office, all with the mostly free tools from Zoho.
Just have a look at the Zoho apps in the screen shot below:
You can use Zoho for as much or as little as you like. For hard core users, there is even a possibility to post blog posts directly to your blog. This is done with an integrated API, much like with Google Docs.
The one application that stood out to me is Zoho Writer. Featuring a huge range of possibilities and tools, this tool really has it all. With Zoho Writer you can:
- Design and publish web pages
- Write and publish blog posts
- Write letters
- Invite collaborators
- Publish documents
- Design newsletters
- and more
Zoho Show lets you design groovy presentations you can either share with the rest of the world, or keep private and collaborate with business partners.
You can use Zoho Show for creating Internet marketing related presentations using their free templates to spice it up. Teachers could even invite paying students to see their presentations all within a private environment.
Zoho Creator is great to design those data bases. For the numeral types of you, there is a lot more you can do with this app too. For example, you could design:
- Project trackers to track status of several projects.
- Create a mini help desk to manage support requests.
- Create a mini CRM to manage your customer leads and accountants.
- Build recruitment apps to manage job positions in your organization.
Zoho Notebook is as simple as it sounds, Take notes, keep things in the same folder so that you can find it again in the future. And with the Zoho Planner you can keep track of all your activities.
Further to all the cool apps we already looked at, there are many more tools for you to play with on Zoho.
- Zoho Sheet: online spreadsheet
- Zoho Chat: online chat client
- Zoho DB & Reports: online database & reporting
- Zoho Wiki: share stuff in simple wikis and update them yourself
- Zoho Mail: web based email
- Zoho Business Applications
Most of these apps are free to use. Some however do cost a fee which makes perfect sense considering how much thought and work went into creating this cool site.
I suggest you just go ahead and sign up with them and then get playing. Ah, on another thing. You can also take Zoho offline. How cool is that!
