WordPress is the preferred choice blogging platform for a lot of bloggers these days. The other day, WordPress celebrated their fifth birthday and they have certainly come a long way since they started out.

When bloggers first download their WordPress theme, they often don’t know what to do to customize the looks of their blog to stand apart from their competition.

While premium WordPress themes are a great way to add zing to your blog, not everybody can afford them. Therefore learning a bit of CSS and HTML doesn’t hurt at all. In fact, the more you learn some of the basic coding languages of HTML and PHP, the better you will be able to customize your WordPress blog design.

Google is the queen bee of online search engines, no questions asked. While other engines have gained good recognition, such as Yahoo or Live Search by MSN, Google is still and will most likely always be number one.

The thing with Google is that unless you are indexed with them, nobody will ever know that your site even exists. Indexing drives a lot of people insane. They worry why their site hasn’t been indexed yet and they do the worst thing ever, namely to submit their site to the various search engines by hand.

While this does work, it is the worst thing you can do if speed is of the essence. Hand submissions take up to 3 months (and sometimes even longer) until they are being reviewed by Google or other engines.

Don’t waste your time.

Monetizing is the key to making a good online income and once you get the hang of this you will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Although it all sounds great, it isn’t as easy as that. Monetizing a site will require some in debt trials on your behalf. You will make many mistakes and hopefully learn from those.

Once you have gotten the hang of it, it really is very easy to subscribe to your favourite blogs and keep in touch with updates without having to visit the actual blog at all.

If you are anything like me you would probably wonder what our readers want to know from us. What makes them click, act, comment and interact with our blog’s community?

This is especially of importance for new webmasters and blog masters, since unless we know what makes our readers tick, it is highly unlikely that we can please them accordingly.

Making money online is what we all want to do right. Unfortunately most of you will give this a shot and when you don’t start earning pretty fast you’ll feel that your time doesn’t justify not earning a cent and you give up eventually.

RSS feeds are an essential by product of blogging these days. After all they allow us to keep updated on what is happening with other blogs. Plus they are a huge time saver as instead of having to visit each individual blog we like we can subscribe to their RSS feed quick and easy and read the updates in one convenient location like Google Reader.

A modern by product of the digital age is the collection of digital dust that clutters up our hard drives. Here we are, buying external hard drive after hard drive only to store our junk somewhere safe.

The thing is, there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars to keep your desktop clean of fluff. You can do this conveniently by using an online document sharing place. Some of them are private and others are public.

Personally I prefer private, because I can upload all my past client work, knowing that it won’t clutter up my hard disk and slow down my computer.
