
The NRL has assured fans the ongoing fuel crisis won’t disrupt the rugby league season, with bosses confident their travel arrangements remain secure.
While the AFL has begun discussing potential travel restrictions — with the possibility of COVID-style hubs being mentioned in some circles — the NRL says it has no such concerns.

Speaking from League Central, NRL bosses confirmed they’ve been assured by their suppliers that team travel will continue as normal, including for the Warriors who fly to Australia nearly every second week.
The fuel crisis has been hitting industries across Australia, with sport not exempt from the disruption.
However, the NRL maintains it has ongoing discussions with Qantas and has received assurances there are no problems with their travel arrangements.
League officials said they aren’t looking at implementing hubs or any similar measures used during the pandemic.
The only remaining question is whether the crisis will affect fans travelling to Magic Round in six weeks’ time, with hopes the situation will be resolved by then.
