One Nation quietly removes webpage touting similarity to Trump as US president’s popularity plummets

A statement from One Nation touting similar policies to US President Donald Trump has quietly been taken down from the party’s website.

US voters rebuked Trump and the Republican party during Tuesday’s midterm elections, leading to Democrats earning historic wins and gaining control of both the House and Senate.

The war in Iran, high cost of living and aggressive immigration policy sunk Trump’s popularity and caused Republicans to distance themselves from the president prior to and following the midterms.

Now it can be revealed One Nation recently removed a page showing support for Trump from its website.

A media release titled “Want Trump’s action and style, then it’s One Nation you need” was initially posted to Pauline Hanson’s One Nation website on January 23, 2025, days after Trump’s inauguration.

But when trying to access the page following the midterms, users are instead directed to an “error” page, which includes a cheeky dig at former prime minister Scott Morrison.

“Maybe ScoMo broke the internet (again), or maybe the page you were looking for was just not found on our amazing new website,” an error message reads beneath a cartoon picture of Morrison.

It is unclear when the page was taken down.

An archive of the page reveals it was last online on October 31, just days before the midterms and spruiked One Nation as Australia’s answer to Trump.

Be the first to know:

“Australians (sic) politics may differ from the United States landscape, but when it comes to bold policy initiatives that prioritise national sovereignty, economic growth, and cultural integrity, the actions of current US President Donald Trump echo strongly with the principles and policies of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation,” the page reads.

It continued to praise Trump’s “defining” immigration policies, which include mass deportations, removing birthright citizenship and the ability to “suspend refugee admissions that didn’t align with US interests”.

The statement goes on to praise Trump for not caving to “globalist tendencies” and instead standing against renewable energy efforts and “culture, gender, and inclusion” policies.

“If you admire the decisive actions and nationalist priorities of Donald Trump, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is the only party in Australia that mirrors these values.”

A spokesperson for the party told 7NEWS.com.au the page was not taken down in response to the midterm elections but instead because the website is undergoing an overhaul.

“One Nation is making significant changes to its website over coming weeks,” the spokesperson said.

“There’s been a number of pages either taken down or updated recently.”
